How to Use Embroidery I2 For Adobe Illustrator
Embroidery I2 is a plugin that allows you to create embroidery designs directly within the Adobe Illustrator software. You can draw or open a vector file, assign a stitch effect, adjust embroidery parameters and you are ready to sew the design on an embroidery machine. Embroidery I2 is perfect for graphic artists and designers who want to add embroidery into their designs. It enables you to combine vector graphic designs with embroidery into a single multi-media design file.
In this article, we will show you how to use Embroidery I2 for Adobe Illustrator in a few simple steps.
Download and install Embroidery I2 from https://www.embroideryi2.com/. You will need a login account and password to access your embroidery tools.
Open Adobe Illustrator and create a new document or open an existing vector file that you want to embroider.
Select the Embroidery I2 tab from the top menu and click on the Embroidery I2 icon to launch the plugin.
A new window will open with the Embroidery I2 toolbar and settings. You can see a preview of your design in the center of the window and a hoop area that shows the embroidery area.
To assign a stitch effect to your design, select the object or group that you want to embroider and choose a stitch type from the Stitch Effects panel. You can choose from various stitch types such as fill, satin, run, applique, etc.
To adjust the embroidery parameters, such as density, pull compensation, underlay, etc., select the object or group that you want to edit and click on the Properties button on the toolbar. A new window will open with various tabs for different settings. You can change the values as per your preference and see the changes in the preview window.
To add text or monograms to your design, select the Text tool from the toolbar and type your text on the canvas. You can choose from over 125 specially digitized embroidery fonts or convert any TTF font into embroidery. You can also apply decorations and envelopes to monograms for extra personalization options.
To change the colors of your design, select the object or group that you want to recolor and click on the Color button on the toolbar. A new window will open with various thread charts that you can choose from. You can also create your own custom thread chart or use RGB values for colors.
To export your design as an embroidery file, click on the Export button on the toolbar and choose a format that is compatible with your embroidery machine. You can also export your design as a PNG file for sending a 3D rendering of your embroidery design to your customer for approval.
To save your design as an Illustrator file, click on the Save button on the toolbar and choose a location and name for your file. Your design will be saved as an AI file with embedded embroidery information.
